There will never be another table quite like this piece. ROCKY is a one of one. Made with love using new & old woodworking techniques for you. Expression through the physical in a piece of art you can use. Collectors piece into Australian culture and history. This Table will outlast us all for generations to come.
This piece, named ROCKY originally after the ‘Rocky movie franchise’.
Originally we had this idea that both tables Rocky & Stella would be sold together as a pair of tables to be showcase. They were made and poured at exactly the same time and are so complimentary in colour/ taste and everything else really. Both river runs in a different fashion than the norm ‘river run epoxy table’ .
Rocky was made with a space tone in mind and to be a theme of rocks from mars. In this sense, not much to do with the rocky movie. Stella & Rocky were named to compliment each other as two souls united do. The SPACE tone of loneliness and beauty in space runs through the valley of the table into the centre where deep purples occupy the space in the centre of the table. Space dust and particles run throughout.
Like Stella, this piece in the slabs we bought was somewhere at the top of the bunch and already had the guts of the slab to the centre to form the river run. This was not man made, but nature made. It took us many tries and trials to get the river in the centre of the table correct.
Perfect in its imperfection. Australian Made. 80 Hand made hours to complete. Totally Unique. 1 of 1. Could not be reproduced. This is the only ROCKY from Lawes Industries in the entire world.
Over 150year old Australian Redgum Iconic lumber. Grown free out in the Yarra ranges, Victoria, Australia. This is a high end product that in years will be known as an antique and will not date with the fashion, but stay iconic and relative.
Purposely built with imperfections to show the full nature of the wood/process/theme and story to make sure no one could ever reproduce this piece of artwork.

LEGS: Matte Black, Steel Australian made set legs to suit table.
TABLE MATERIAL: Tables are reinforced with steel channels under the wood piece to prevent cupping, over time this may be unavoidable, but all due diligence has been completed to avoid this. Frames have also been added when required to bigger tables.
COLOUR PALLETE: Redgum red is the wood colour/ Deep Black epoxy/ purple epoxy flakes/ white epoxy layers. Clear epoxy to finish. Legs are matte black.

TOP COATING: Table completed with TOUGH Epoxy covering to finish to make resistant and use easier. We have gone to great lengths to make this table as people proof as possible, but it is not full proof.
TABLE COATING/ MATERIAL : Australian made epoxy resin slow cure used to encapsulate this Redgum slab into immortality. Ingredients used in epoxy spec sheet/ used can be sent on request if required.

WARRANTY: 12months for workmanship. User faults not covered or included. Chips/ damages/ scratches & the like not covered under warranty. Lawes Industries be happy to restore/clean/ re-seal/ clean in future years for a reasonable cost and drop in on your investment.
